On April 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2006, visitors from many countries gathered in Atlanta, Georgia, to experience the amazing Brazilian healer known simply as 'John of God.' The main room contained chairs for 2,000, was adorned with white curtains on walls in excess of 20' high, and was lighted by massive crystal chandeliers.

John of God addressed the gathering briefly at the beginning of each session. In Portuguese, in a deep, resonant voice, he reminded people that God does the healing, not him, he is just a man. After each short address, he removed himself quietly to his private consultation room, which had space for 100 meditators.

Visitors all dressed in white shuffled slowly from the main room through a 'current room' with chairs for 250 pray- ers/meditators into his consultation room. Other rooms used were a blessings room and a psychic surgery room. Sacred music especially the Lord's Prayer was playing continuously and softly throughout the event.

In the main room, various facilitators addressed the crowd in soft voices. encouraging the assembly to be in prayer, patience, and peace.

"Healing only happens in peace, in the silence, in stillness," one facilitator repeatedly told those assembled.

I wondered at this since I've seen profound healings happen in very loud, Pentecostal ways, at events hosted by Ron Roth, a teacher of mine for the past decade and the human through whom I both received my ordination as a spiritual healer and also learned of John of God! That said, the peace was delicious. The willingness of all attendees to be patient, pray, meditate and wait for many hours, was very impressive.

Although in Brazil, surgeries and herbs play a very important and integral part of the healing process, U.S. law forbids this, so everything was done invisibly. Most but not all of those receiving 'invisible' operations or psychic surgeries were escorted into a separate room and tended to there. Some, including myself for my visits on the first day, were invited to go to the "Blessings" room. Others were told they needed to go to Brazil.

I found it of note that throughout the first day, very graphic films of surgeries performed in Brazil were shown repeatedly. The instruments were a basic pocket knife, scissors, human hands, and in some cases, gauze for the surprisingly small amounts of blood which flowed. One of the films showed at length on the first day depicted Ron Roth, already mentioned, who is a great spiritual healer from the U.S. and one of my teachers, standing next to John of God. Ron had gone to Brazil to investigate and subsequently to validate the healings coming from the entities working through John of God. I felt strongly that the choice of this particular footage was intended to emphasize the pre-existence in the U.S. of spiritual healers, thereby quietly endorsing both the presence of and the profound work of John of God.

My own participation in the events of the three days was totally guided, spontaneous, inspired and deeply, deeply fulfilling. I have spent many years around people who are masters at raising energy in a room to the point where the Healing Spirit a.k.a. The Holy Spirit is palpable and easily invoked. On the afternoon of the first day, I was feeling that the energy in Atlanta just wasn't high enough. Just as that thought arose, a facilitator took the mic and reiterated the importance of contemplation on God, that the entity had just complained that the energy wasn't high enough.

I had noticed already that the Lord's Prayer was being used at this event as a mantra. I know the absolute power of this Prayer when said in Aramaic, which I know how to do, and the thought arose, "Someone ought to be raising the energy in this room by saying the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic."

Next thing I knew, I was popped out of my chair and found myself walking down the long, center aisle. The main facilitator had temporarily stepped aside to let someone else speak. I found myself saying to her, "I know the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic."

She took my hand and started to shake, from which I knew I was resonating at an extremely high level because I've had that happen to me before ... that I am resonating so strongly that someone touching me starts to shake. She immediately went to the mic and told those assembled that there was someone here who was going to say the Lord's Prayer for us in Aramaic. She placed me in front of the mic.

I looked out at 2,000+ faces and my heart started to pound very heavily in my chest.

"Isn't this wonderful," I thought, "how strongly my heart can still pump!"

I proceeded to invite people to go back some 1,975 years and imagine being in the presence of the Master Jesus, the Great Teacher. Imagine, I coached, that someone had asked Him how he spoke to God, and imagine hearing him teach, with all His power and in His native tongue, this exquisite Prayer ... The room suddenly became so silent it was even beyond hearing a pin drop, and out of my body came the most amazing and powerful rendition of the Prayer that I have ever given. The energy in the room skyrocketed. I felt so grateful to have been used for such a high purpose!

At that moment, I knew I was going to be joining the Circle of Love Clergy on Monday, the following day. The Circle of Love Clergy comprised clerics from many religions and venues, who had volunteered to sequester themselves for 3 days to pray for world peace and love. I didn't know how it was going to happen, but I knew it would.

It did. Monday morning, I simply walked into the room where the Clergy had been sequestered the previous day. We all introduced ourselves. As this was happening, the thought arose, "This group needs to be in with John of God. The energy needs to be higher and he needs this group around him." 10 minutes later, someone came into the room and breathlessly and hurriedly announced that the entity had said the energy needed to be elevated, the Clergy were to be in John's consultation room and that we had to go now to introduce ourselves to all 2,000 assembled (which I did!) and then go to sit with John. The result was that I spent most of Tuesday less than 20 feet from him, praying and meditating for John of God and the entities and the success of the event, for the entire morning session, from 8:00 am to noon, and for the entire afternoon session, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. I loved it.

Tuesday morning, I again participated in the Clergy, again announced myself to all 2,000 people, and this time, all of us in the consultation room with John also received invisible operations. Mine was so powerful for me that I needed to sleep all afternoon Tuesday before my plane left Tuesday evening, so I missed the final afternoon event.

John of God is a medium healer. This means that highly-evolved spirits do the healings through the body of the man. A basic tenet of spiritism is reincarnation. Each of the 'entities' who incorporates into John of God's body, was once alive and in form on our planet. Emma Bragdon, a well-known author of books about John of God and facilitator of U.S. tours to visit him in Brazil, recently observed, "Could this event be a sign that the collective consciousness of the USA is more receptive to Spiritualism and the power of spiritual healing? I think so."

I certainly hold the resonance of this possibility!

It was magical, as the honor of facilitating an animal communication workshop always is for me. Fifteen people from the greater Miami area met in a private rescue facility for the weekend to learn what Guidance, Cows, Dogs, Cats, Trees, Quoi , a Snake and other Beings had to say.

The morning of the first day, as we were doing the call to the ordinals, birds flew overhead, acknowledging and answering our call. As we walked to a field of cows, we were escorted by more birds who joyously appeared and one dog. Horses whinnied to us, roosters crowed, and the animals on each property we passed acknowledged us and thanked us for our presence and intent.

Saturday was "The Opening" and Sunday was "The Listening." Each person was individually coached and guided through the phases of opening and listening and through processes designed to deepen their knowledge of themselves and who they are and their connection to All.

A particularly moving part of the event for me actually started beforehand. The weekend before the event, I was sorely missing my beloved Tanuka, who co-taught animal communication workshops with me for over 14 years. Even though he and I connect regularly spiritually, I still miss the joy of watching him "work" a room, connecting with all there, and in a short period of time, letting every animal know what's going to be happening, enlisting their cooperation, and reporting to me about the primary issues of every human there, that need to be unblocked.

So I cried a bit that weekend. Monday, however, Tanuka came to me, ecstatic: he had found a dog to work through! That was all he said and he was VERY pleased with himself! He didn't tell me who, however.

Thursday when I arrived, Josie, the workshop organizer and an extremely talented holistic veterinarian, picked me up at the airport. She mentioned to me that on Tuesday, her dog, Phenix, had come to her and told her he wanted to attend, even HAD to attend, the workshop, even though no animals other than those already in the rescue facility were 'allowed'. I wondered then if Phenix was the dog Tanuka had chosen!

I didn't have to wonder long! When I entered Josie's house, Phenix ran to me and almost bowled me over with the same joyous lick-your-face greeting Tanuka always gave me! And Tanuka came through right away, "This is the dog! We'll be working together!" I almost cried right then and there I was so happy to 'see' him again!

Phenix and Tanuka were good to their word. Phenix/Tanuka greeted each and every human participant and many of the animal participants in the workshop and reported back to me. And for much of the first day, he 'grounded' the group, as Tanuka used to, sitting in the middle of the room.

Well, what DOES an off-duty animal communicator do? This off-duty animal communicator went looking for alligators!

Later on Sunday evening, after the Miami workshop, the amazingly and delightfully talented veterinarian who sponsored the workshop, Josie, her equally delightful husband, Tom, and their dog Phenix, who volunteered to let Tanuka work through him, and I went looking for alligators in the Everglades.

"After dark is the best time to go," declared Tom, an expert in animal welfare and rescue and an extremely good animal communicator himself.

As our vehicle moved along, I was amazed at how FLAT Florida is ... I had forgotten, I hadn't been driving around Florida since my parents, who used to live there, both died in 2000-01.

Our search for alligators first found us a cottonmouth snake or two lying in the road. Tom got out of the vehicle both times and carefully urged the snakes to leave the road for their safety.

A few times we got out, careful to stay on the road and out of the brush.

We found ponds very dried up from lack of rain, practically no water in areas that once clearly had many feet's depth of water in them.

Frequently Tom would move the vehicle to angle it so that we could use the head lights to look more closely into the trees. We had forgotten our flashlights.

Finally, we came upon a pond that delighted Tom, our key 'scout' for this adventure ... he excitedly moved the vehicle and also fetched his digital camera ... with the benefit of the flash and standing high on top of huge drain sewers, we saw another very dried up pond that had dozens of alligator eyes looking back at us!

We had found them!

At one point Tom stopped the vehicle for a relatively small gator, about a foot and a half in size, who was in the road. He got out of the vehicle to encourage the gator go to back into the woods. I was absolutely amazed at how quickly it moved and wondered silently, "How is it that they move so quickly?"

A short while later, we saw another gator in the road. This one was about 4 feet long. Tom stayed in the vehicle this time, as did Josie and Phenix and myself.

The gator started to move and said to me, "Watch me. Are you watching me?"

I was, intently.

"Watch how I put my feet down," he coached.

I watched, and noticed that he was putting his feet down in an alternating pattern with perfectly synchronous timing ... the right hind was placed at the same time the left front was placed, and then the left hind was placed at precisely the same time as the right front.

"Now notice what I'm doing with my head," he coached.

I noticed he was keeping his head very still, practically no aerodynamic flux at all, a very clean break into the wind.

"This is how I get my speed," he said. "I have great power in my legs, a low strong body, and I push off with great force with both legs at once which allows me great reach with the next two legs. And I keep my head still."

"Like the nose of an airplane," I thought, relating his lesson to my most recent experience of flight. "Thank you, gator," I thought-said, as I realized gratefully that my question of a few minutes ago was being answered magnificently.

"Also notice that I have no fear of you, even though you appear much bigger than I do," he finished.

That he had no fear of me, and that I was watching a being of prehistoric energetic, was apparently clear to me.

"Thank you again, gator," I said, feeling deep appreciation and gratitude and awe in creation.
