The
Bali "Group" !!!
I send my sincere thanks and love to my Bali travel-partners
. . . if you have pictures you'd like me to post here, send
them!
Our
group, on the stairs in front of a private temple of a member
of the Balinese former Royal family. What we all had in
common is a great respect for Joan Borysenko, a love of
spirituality, and a thirst for adventure!l
Here
we are in a boat at Lake Bratan, another beautiful temple.
Lake Bratan also had beautiful gardens, landscaped grounds,
a full playground for children, and a restaurant.
Arline Kaplan,
my Bali roommate and now dear friend, is a journalist from
California. We laughed joyously and often together and shared
many deep spiritual discussions. Here, Arline is outside
the private temple at the Nusa Dua. I learned a great deal
about Science of Mind from Arline, who is an SOM Practitioner.
Paul
Voelkel was the amazingly brave and truly awesome "only"
man in our group. What a beautiful spirit! And a talented
photographer, too! He and his beautiful wife, Paula, earlier
in the year, had been to India to visit Sai Baba.
Ramzi was the
only teenage boy on our trip. In this picture, he displays
his staff, used to ward off monkeys. Monkeys are ubiquitous
in Bali and often (and quickly!!!) take or try to take,
whatever catches their eye. Monkeys are always just gently
prodded away, never hurt.
Sugina,
pictured at right, was our exceptionally knowledgeable,
devoted, and highly skilled Guide. Many aspects of his presence
impressed me. Most noteable, were his sharing of his spirituality
and religion with us, and the exquisite blessings he volunteered
when we all did the "100 Blessings" meditation.
At a dinner celebration
on the Hotel grounds (outside, on the beach!!!), group members
laugh and enjoy each other, their meal and the performance.
