GirlyGirls - jkat, I've been coming to this chat frequently for just about as long as it's been around (10 years?), and I am always renewed in spirit through participation.
jkat - Well, I may have a hard time feeling that way tonight, it's been a BAD week, but maybe someone can help me get there.
GirlyGirls - LOL!! Well, then the topic is great for you, too!! I know it is for me!
Dr. Liz – GG, thank you. I always appreciate when you add your lovely energy here. Jkat, you've already touched on a part of tonight's topic, when you wrote, "maybe someone can help me get there."
jkat - I feel like I'm going to need a lot of help.
Dr. Liz - One of the things I'll be inviting people to do tonight, is to find a "Best Day Ever" buddy.

Dr. Liz - A "Best Day Ever" Buddy, is someone who will help you reframe whatever is going poorly, to what is absolutely the BEST.

jkat - That's what I really need. I'm feeling very depressed and feeling a HUGE amount of guilt.

Dr. Liz - So, I'll share a situation that's been happening here. In early March, I decided to purchase my formerly leased Subaru. I sent the company the check which they cashed on March 10.
Dr. Liz - They were supposed to mail out the toele immediately.
Dr. Liz - They didn't.
GirlyGirls - I guess it could be my guardian angel, too. . .
GirlyGirls - toele?
Dr. Liz - I received the toele on the 23rd, after the NJ DMV had closed.
Dr. Liz - When I went to the DMV yesterday, I was told that the registration was late, and therefore, I was going to have to pay a fine.
Dr. Liz - I was also told that the toele was filled out incorrectly, so I had to ask the Finance Company to send me a corrected toele.

jkat - So how did you turn it into a better day?
Dr. Liz - So, who can help reframe that kind of experience? I was having trouble, so I called someone and asked her to be my telephone Best Day Ever Buddy. I asked her, from her knowledge of my life, to be relentless in reminding me of what I have to be grateful for, until I "GOT" it myself. And then I went and had an absolutely LOVELY INCREDIBLE BEST DAY EVER walk with my dog.

Dr. Liz - This morning, my telephones were dead. Totally dead. No dial tone. No calls in, no calls out. Does this sound like the BEST DAY EVER? This is the day AFTER, I remind you, the car situation unfolded.

jane - Good grief - I would be screaming into a pillow by then!

Dr. Liz - And the insight is, it is a uniquely human myth, to believe that we can control anything. All we can do is control ourselves, our attitudes, our way of looking at things.
Dr. Liz - So I'm on the phone with Comcast (I have their triple play, phone, internet, and TV)...
GirlyGirls - Yes, this is so.
GirlyGirls - The phone worked again?
Dr. Liz - And the Comcast rep tells me the BEST he can do is have someone here sometime between 3:00 and 7:00 pm.
GirlyGirls - so... it was possible you wouldn't have been able to access the chat?
jane - Did you call from your cell phone?
Dr. Liz - So I figure, OK, I just went through this yesterday. I remembered everything that I have to be grateful for, everything that is just wonderful ... and ten minutes later, a Comcast rep called and said, "Hey, I saw your appointment on the schedule, I'm about 20 minutes away from you, OK if I come over early and come now?"
Dr. Liz - Jane, had to use my cell phone, nothing else in the house worked.
GirlyGirls - :-)
Dr. Liz - It took them 3-1/2 hours to fix the problem.
jane - Wow - what was the problem?
Dr. Liz - So the story of things going wrong, is our unique, own story.
Dr. Liz - Jane, it turned out that the phone modem was bad and needed to be replaced. But it took quite a lot of diagnosing before they got to that point. And then they had to go get one, because there wasn't one on the truck. And then they had to program it, because the one they had picked up, wasn't pre-programmed.
GirlyGirls - I had a slightly similar situation today, about a small shift in my energy creating an important shift in getting the assistance I needed.
Dr. Liz - What's important here is, I had the freshly loaded, freshly reinforced list of what I have in my life to be absolutely grateful for, to be spectacularly happy about, fresh from my conversation with my BEST DAY EVER buddy from yesterday.
Dr. Liz - So I recommend we all create such a list here. And share that list with whoever YOU are going to ask to be YOUR BEST DAY EVER BUDDY.
jkat - I know I'm new here, so I hope no one will mind my jumping in here with my story. Maybe you can help me "re-frame"?
GirlyGirls - So how does one pick a BEST DAY EVER buddy?
Dr. Liz - We can't really AFFORD to allow ourselves to be in any other energy for very long. Remember, in each moment, we are planting the seeds for our next moments' experiences.
GirlyGirls - I know, but can you expand on that, Liz. .
Dr. Liz - GG, yesterday, guidance picked one out for me. I just found myself on my cell phone calling someone. And that someone ended up BEING a BEST DAY EVER BUDDY. I didn't call her that, it wasn't planned or thought out by me ... but after we hung up, I realized that is what happened. Guidance knows it has to make things very obvious for me, so quite frequently, It shows or teaches me something, and then explains to me what It’s just shown me or taught me. LOL!!!
jane - jkat - please feel free to expand with your story - that's why we are all here.
jkat - I lost a second "baby" this week, only 72 days after losing another. And I am feeling so much hurt and guilt. Seems to be a never-ending circle that I can't seem to get out of.
Dr. Liz – The person I called knows my life, as I know hers ... and she just suddenly, spontaneously, without any coaching, started to be a BEST DAY EVER BUDDY. We didn't talk about it. She's never done that before. It just unfolded.
Dr. Liz - And I realized that the Universe was giving me the experience of what to share and teach everyone tonight.

jkat - My kitty -- she was only 10.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, we need to know a little more about your life, to be your BEST DAY EVER BUDDIES.
Dr. Liz - One great thing is, you found us, our Team, here.
Dr. Liz - Another is you obviously are capable of feeling great love for your animals.
GirlyGirls - Same thing happened to me last night, Liz. . .I was giving the Litany of my stresses to a friend, not whining, just listing the overwhelm, and she rattled off a bunch of incredibly amazing things that have happened in my life, and people who have come into my life to support me in various ways while going through this difficulty.
Dr. Liz - A third is, you're obviously willing to take responsibility for how you feel.
jkat - Not sure where to start. I lost my 19 year old kitty to CRF in January. I lost my 10 year old kitty on Monday, not sure what was wrong and I feel like a made the decision to help her cross too early.
Dr. Liz - And another is, you're willing to ask for help.
Dr. Liz - These are all pretty amazing and miraculous things aren't they?
GirlyGirls - I'm so sorry, jkat, truly.
jkat - Yes, they are. Thank you. I need to keep telling myself to focus on the positive.
Dr. Liz - GG, she was being your BEST DAY EVER BUDDY.
jkat - My husband is probably my Best Buddy. He keeps saying to remember that we gave her 10 wonderful years and not to focus on the final day.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, for now, you don't need to tell yourself these things. WE are your BUDDIES NOW, we will tell them TO you.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, yes, it feels like you have a BEST DAY EVER BUDDY living right there with you!
jane - I am so sorry, jkat - we all know the pain you are feeling now.
GirlyGirls - Liz, jkat poses something so clearly difficult. . .grief, and loss. . .and how to transform that into a best day ever. I know when Pinky died, I was grateful I was home, she was in my arms, my friend and neighbor Kathy was here with me. . .it was great consolation.
jkat - He is the eternally positive person. I am lucky to have him. There's a positive.
Dr. Liz - Most of us to go the "awful" just out of habit, or because we feel somehow that we're supposed to. Sound familiar?
GirlyGirls - Positive? That's FANTASTIC!!! Coming from this single girl. . .
jkat - He's been my rock for 20 years.

Dr. Liz - GG, the BEST DAY EVER in that situation, is to know that the beloved being we have lost, is now completely free of pain and at peace.
GirlyGirls - jkat, when you say that, it fills me with such a joyous awe!
jane - you are very lucky to have such a positive husband!

jkat - Thanks. That brings up another thing -- I know, in my brain, that I have many blessings -- my husband, my daughter, my other pets, a good job. but . . .
jkat - my heart is broken and that keeps rising to the top.
Dr. Liz - A lot of people feel that if they "recover" too quickly, or "seem too happy", then they didn't care enough, or are clueless, or that somehow there's something wrong with being happy in a certain situation.
jane - well, jkat, there is nothing wrong with grieving.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, then thank your amazing and wonderful heart for feeling so deeply, and love it, for feeling so deeply.
Dr. Liz - And when you've thanked it, notice how you feel.
GirlyGirls - Grief is grief, but it doesn't have to be a mindset that is negative.
GirlyGirls - A grieving hear is a heart full of love.
Dr. Liz - GG, precisely! Well said. GG, I love your wordings. :) :) :)

jkat - But beyond the grief is this immense guilt too
jane - Dr. Liz - that is an amazing statement - about thanking your heart for feeling so deeply - I have never thought of that - but it is a fantastic thing to think about! That we are able to "feel" this deeply!
Dr. Liz - Grief, deep grief, can come from a positive perspective, and also, from a negative perspective.
Dr. Liz - The choice is ours.
Dr. Liz - When we thank our heart, we are coming from a positive perspective, while also DEEPLY acknowledging our own feelings.
GirlyGirls - jkat, why do you feel responsible for your loss?
jkat - I feel like a gave up on her too early, out of my own selfishness rather than fighting for her, with her
jane - jkat - you really have to let the guilt go - we cannot change the past - and we need to know that everything happens for a reason - we all do the best that we can in life. Sometimes it is harder than others.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, guilt over the loss of a beloved animal companion is a VERY frequent reaction.
jkat - I just wish there was some way I could know that she understands.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, then perhaps another gift is, you've learned something to NOT do "next time". How WONDERFUL is that!!!!
jkat - I have this overwhelming feeling that she feels like I failed her.
jane - Dr. Liz, can you sense anything at all from her cat?
Dr. Liz - Jkat, there is a way. You can talk to her yourself directly, or, you can schedule a session with someone such as myself who can speak to the essence energies of those who have dropped their bodies.
GirlyGirls - That is the thing about our dear ones, our animals, what is most important to them is that they don't fail us. Sometimes I think that the things we do wrong, they bear for us in order to help us on our life path.
jkat - I hear of people who feel like that have had visits from their loved ones. I have never gotten that feeling.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, how much of that is your feeling that maybe you failed her? Go deep and answer truthfully. It is very common for humans to project feelings onto others, especially our animals.
jane - I so agree, GG - sometimes they cling to life for US, even though they may be suffering.
Dr. Liz - GG, totally true, from where I sit. :)
Dr. Liz - Jane, again, totally true.
jkat - I think that is very much my feelings. I feel like I didn't do enough.
Dr. Liz - Also, I add, I have NEVER had an animal push its person beyond its person's spiritual ecology. Our animals know us so much better than we know ourselves.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, GREAT JOB! So now you can add the ability to have deep insights about yourself, to your list of things to be grateful for.
jkat - Please expand on "spiritual ecology" What does that mean?
Dr. Liz - I'm eating my dinner as we're gathering here tonight and I just dropped an alfalfa sprout between the keys of my keyboard. LOL
Dr. Liz - So I'm very grateful that I have alfalfa sprouts to eat tonight. LOL LOL LOL
Dr. Liz - I've dropped a lot of things into my keyboard, but this is a first. LOL.
GirlyGirls - It seems to me, jkat, you did what you believed you were capable of doing. When something goes wrong, and we have proximity to such a loss, we can save the day over and over and over again, every day afterward, think of what we might have done differently. But that is in another moment in time, with new knowledge. We live, we learn, we grow. It is all.
GirlyGirls - Was dropping it the definition of spiritual ecology? LOL!
Dr. Liz - Jkat, our "spiritual ecology" is what we can do, and what we can't do, as a totality ... mind, body, emotions, spirit.
jkat - So is there a way for me to "connect" with her. Can I expand my senses to do so?
jane - jkat - I think that all of us here have felt at some time in the past that we did not do enough for our animals - I have been through it many times in the past. But through teachers like Dr. Liz and animal communicators, I truly believe that our animals are here to teach us lessons and that they are OK and do not judge us, like people often do. I have learned to let go and realize that I did the best I was capable of doing at the time.
Dr. Liz - Our spiritual ecology changes with each moment and situation, yet it also has a rhythm, a flow, a path, spiraling either up or down, depending on our life style and attitude choices.
Dr. Liz - jane, beautiful.
GirlyGirls - Which brings us right back around to BEST DAY EVER BUDDIES. . .and the ability to transform the energy of our circumstances.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, yes, of course.

jkat - So I'm getting that I am the one who blames me. That she does not. That she doesn't really have the capacity to blame me?

jkat - I have always believed that our pets love us unconditionally. In the past, at the time of loss, I have always felt guilt. Guilt for giving up to soon or too easily. OR guilt for not letting them go sooner. I think my revelation is that I am the one blaming.
Dr. Liz - Jkat, GREAT JOB!
GirlyGirls - I always marvel at my darling Fannie girl. . .who has had a shift in the peace of her household after we took in a kitty being abused by a neighbor. I never get the feeling she blames me, she accepts.
GirlyGirls - jkat, I was feeling that this had some old history, but hesitated to ask. Confirmation, thank you.
Dr. Liz - Great job of "sensing", GG!
GirlyGirls - It's always too soon, jkat, for our hearts and minds to let go.
jkat - I am going to have to keep telling myself over and over to get it to sink in, but I think, over time, the guilt will subside. I need to do as my husband (by BEST BUDDY) says -- just choose to remember the good times, not the bad times.

Dr. Liz - Jkat, your husband can help you. He will if you ask him. Tell him about the BEST DAY EVER BUDDY concept. Ask him to be your coach. Seems he's a natural.
GirlyGirls - she is my 7 pound tortoise shell calico who is about 16 years old. And now she lives with two 15 pound boys. Well, I do too!
GirlyGirls - She is my heart.
jkat - I have three angel kitties now -- Bonnie, Clyde, and Daisy. Bonnie and Clyde were brother and sister - pure white and beautiful. Daisy was my petite orange tabby.
GirlyGirls - The GirlyGirl name comes from the old days, about a decade ago when I first joined the chat, and it was me, and Pinky and Fannie. Pinky died several years ago, she was very young and had a very rare cancer. They said it would take her in two weeks. That's when I met Liz, and she lived brilliantly for what, four years, Liz? with a grapefruit sized tumor attached to her bladder. . .she caught a mouse two weeks before she died.
jane - jkat - if you have a sessions with Dr. Liz, you can "talk" to your kittie.
Bonnie - I learned recenly from a very wise person that our animals know and accept their purpose in life and accept it with love and unconditionally. We may not understand why these things happen and I am not sure we are meant to. They know only love.
jkat - That would be great -- maybe that is just what I need.
GirlyGirls - Liz and the Team got me through some very, very difficult days in my shoulder to shoulder battle with Pinky.
