Dr. Liz - Hello, Jane and Thumbers.

jane - Dr. Liz - I was deeply sorry to read tonight about the unexpected passing of your son-in-law. Are you doing OK? I think that the "burden of life" is totally apropos to discuss at any time, but especially when we feel the hat I call - "heavy hand of life."
Dr. Liz - Jane, thank you. We're struggling here, and also, recovering.
thumbers - yes, my thoughts are with you and your family
Dr. Liz - Thank you, Thumbers.
Dr. Liz - It's a time of great, sudden change and transition.
thumbers - I can't even imagine the feelings of loss at a time like this
jane - How is your daughter doing? Do they have children?
Dr. Liz - I'm finding myself haunted by the similarities of the circumstances of my son-in-law's death, and my own birth father's death.
Dr. Liz - Jane, yes, two children.
Dr. Liz - Both my birthfather and son-in-law died of heart disease that was unknown, unsuspected, un-diagnosed. Both died at home, in the middle of the night. Nicole is 34, my Mom was 36. Both had young children. Both men died un-insured. Both my Mom and Nicole were not working.
Dr. Liz - It's very disquieting, the similarities.
jane - Oh my gosh.......that IS very disquieting....what did your Mom do - please forgive me if I getting too personal?
Dr. Liz - Jane, my Mom got herself together, got a job, and worked to support the 3 of us.
Dr. Liz - Nicole isn't reacting that way yet.
jane - Is your Mom still alive?
Dr. Liz - Jane, she died in 2000.
jane - It sure seems like people - maybe women in particular - were a lot "tougher" back then - they did what they had to do - the times were tough, too.
Dr. Liz - Jane, that was a frequent saying of my Mom's ... "you gotta do what you gotta do." She also used to say, "It's a great life if you don't weaken."
Dr. Liz - My Mom had a great example in my grandmother ... my maternal grandfather died young, making my maternal grandmother also a widow at a very young age.
Dr. Liz - It's very disquieting to me. What I'm feeling strongly, is the "knowing", when I was in my mid-30's, that I simply had to divorce my husband in order to keep him alive, because if I didn't, he would die young of heart disease. So I divorced him. I had hoped that I was breaking any kind of family karma on that. Apparently, there's more to it than I know.
Dr. Liz - My maternal grandmother's example, was to buckle down, get a job, and work to support her (then) six children.
thumbers - that's a very sad pattern, I can understasnd your trying to break it
Dr. Liz - Thumbers, what's particularly sad is, I thought by my sacrifice and decision, that I had broken it.
Dr. Liz - But I didn't, apparently. There's more to it.
jane - Oh my gosh, again....it seems to run in your family - do you think it is some kind of cosmic pattern that the women unconsciouly choose men who would die young so that they would be forced to pick up the reins of the family? Is your ex-husband still alive?
jane - Did your husband understand what you were doing?
Dr. Liz - Jane, my ex-husband is very much alive, remarried less than two years after we divorced.
Dee & kids - logged on. - from . using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20020924 AOL/7.0 on Thu May 14 9:22pm ET)
Dr. Liz - Jane, no. He thought I was speaking gibberish.
Dr. Liz - Hello, Dee & Kids!
jane - Hi Dee & kids
Dee & kids - Hi Dr Liz- How are you doing?
thumbers - hi
Dee & kids - hi Jane
Dee & kids - hi thumbers
Dr. Liz - Dee, a mixture of stunned and recovering.
Dr. Liz - I took Nicole to pick up Steven's cremains today.
Dee & kids - we have been praying for you and your family
GirlyGirls - logged on. - from . using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) on Thu May 14 9:24pm ET)
jane - What are you and Nicole going to do with the cremains?
Dee & kids - hi GG
Dr. Liz - Steven's essence energy was there, both my elder grandson Anthony and I saw him. He scratched Anthony's head and made Anthony smile. No one else saw him, though.
GirlyGirls - Hi, All. Liz, what happened?
thumbers - hello GG
Dr. Liz - Jane, Nicole is going to keep some, spread some in a special place, and wear some in an infinity locket she bought for that purpose.
jane - Were you able to "talk" to Steve?
Dr. Liz - Hello, GG!
Dr. Liz - GG, my son-in-law died suddenly last week. 32 years old.
jane - Hey GG
Dr. Liz - Jane, not yet.
GirlyGirls - I thought that was what I was reading, do you know what why happened?
Dr. Liz - Dee, thank you for the prayer support.
Dr. Liz - GG, the autopsy said he had a heart condition that he'd had since birth.
thumbers - He was not in ill health, or were his symptoms missed?
Dr. Liz - On Sunday, after the funeral, his mother finally admitted that she knew about it but didn't tell anyone.
GirlyGirls - I met him briefly at your birthday party, didn't I? Undiagnosed cardio myopathy?
Dee & kids - How are your daughter & grandsons doing?
Dr. Liz - thumbers, he wasn't in ill health. If there were symptoms he never said anything about it.
Dr. Liz - Dee, they're the same place I am ... stunned and recovering.
thumbers - Oh, wow on the mother
GirlyGirls - Do you think the mother is telling the truth? Why do I feel something about her version?
Dr. Liz - GG, yes, you did. It was a form of arterial sclerosis, a congenital form.
Dr. Liz - GG, I wondered about that, too, the truth of that.
GirlyGirls - Not quite cricket, Liz.
GirlyGirls - She may have been asked to follow up on it years ago...
Dr. Liz - The Medical Examiner said that form of congenital heart disease has been diagnosable for over 40 years, that it's diagnosed at birth, and that the mother's are always told. Steven's mother was 17 at the time and most likely didn't understand what she was being told. So it's possible.
Dr. Liz - GG, as far as we know, she was. But she didn't follow up.
GirlyGirls - That makes some kind of sense about the story then. Seems no reason whatsoever to NOT tap into the ever increasing research and options on cardio conditions.
Dr. Liz - There were some very weird things that happened at the funeral.
jane - I believe that people have reasons for what they do - I wonder if the Steven's Mother was just in denial that anything would actually happen - or maybe she feared that no one would marry Steven if they knew? Did Steve know about it? Now that I read that she was so young when he was born - I think that at that age, she just didn't get it at all.
GirlyGirls - That's what I felt Liz. She had some illusions, I think, of him living through a hopeless situation that would eventually get him anyway, then, perhaps at some point went into denial. .. "everything's okay, maybe it just went away"
Dr. Liz - The good thing that happened was, Nicole asked me to Officiate at the funeral ... so I wrote a funeral service last week. Although I've been an Ordained minister for many decades, I've never done a human's funeral before, just weddings, namings, house blessings, and animal's funerals and memorials.
GirlyGirls - Emotionally/spiritually, I'm not feeling she's highly evolved. Lot's of unresolved stuff in her life determining her world, not her so much
Dr. Liz - Steve didn't know about it. Neither did Nicole. I think the mother just didn't understand what she was being told. And yes, GG, your sensings of Steven's Mom feel completely correct.
GirlyGirls - Awful, Liz, just tragically, awful, for whatever reasons it happened.
Dr. Liz - The service was beautiful. Nicole gave an exquisite eulogy, very much from the heart.
GirlyGirls - I am soo very sorry for all.
thumbers - That is so sad in this era when so much could have been done to treat it
Dr. Liz - Thumbers, yes, that is surely a part of the sadness.
jane - The funeral must have been incredibly hard and emotional for you Dr. Liz I don't know how you got throught it without breaking down. I could not have done it.
Dr. Liz - I know we're all feeling some shock.
Dr. Liz - Jane, I had a lot of prayer support. It helped me through it.
GirlyGirls - Gosh, of course Nicole didn't know about it. She has a direct sense of purpose about her, she would have left no stone unturned I would think.
Dr. Liz - GG, precisely.
Dr. Liz - Jane, I was afraid I would break down during the funeral. But I didn't.
Dr. Liz - My grandson Anthony was probably in the best place. He sees the spirits of the dead, he always has.
GirlyGirls - You've had so much emotional stuff to deal with over the years with Nicole and her life. A long journey for you, personally.
thumbers - I am sure that was a comfort to him
Dr. Liz - After the funeral, my elder grandson Anthony and I and Steven's spirit shared a moment in time that was a miracle.
Dr. Liz - The final people there were getting into their cars to leave the funeral parlor's parking lot.
Dr. Liz - Nicholas, my younger grandson who is Nicole and Steven's son, suddenly started to wail, "I want to see my Daddy! Where is my Daddy!"
Dr. Liz - Everyone became very upset except Anthony and me.
Dr. Liz - Nicholas is 6.
Dr. Liz - Anthony, who was about to get into the same car Nicholas was supposed to be getting into, calmly and pleasantly said, "Nic, he's right here! He's standing on the sidewalk looking at you right now!"
Dr. Liz - Nic couldn't see him. Anthony turned to me and said, 'Isn't he, Me-Mom?"
Dr. Liz - I replied, "Yes, he is."
jane - Was that any comfort for Nic? How old is Anthony?
Dr. Liz - And then all time stopped. The people in the cars froze, like they were suspended. All that was in the dimension we were suddenly in, was Anthony, me, and Steven's Spirit.
Dr. Liz - Anthony, 11, said to me, "Me-Mom, how do you see them? The spirits of the dead? How do you see them?"
Dr. Liz - I said, "Not like in Ghost Whisperer, where they look like full humans in color. I see them as shades of grey, but I know who they are."
Dr. Liz - "Me, too," he replied.
GirlyGirls - (I feel them clearly moreso, but see the same, the shades of gray sometimes)
Dr. Liz - And we looked at each other ... all three of us ... Steven, Anthony, and Me ... and suddenly Steven's spirit disappeared, the time warp disappeared, and we were back in the same dimension with everyone else. And everyone else started to move.
GirlyGirls - Nice. . .
Dr. Liz - Anthony's pleasant approach has been somewhat of a comfort to Nic. But mostly, Anthony is in a very different place than everyone around him.
jane - Do you think that Steven then crossed over into the Light at that point? Do you believe that the spirits cross over into the Light - or remain Earthbound??
Dr. Liz - By that I mean, Anthony is in a very different place. He's been able to see Spirits his whole life to date. He has no fear of death.
Dr. Liz - Jane, he didn't cross then. He was at the funeral parlor today.
GirlyGirls - Liz, there comes that time when they are not so close, so easily felt or seen as they move on, thoughare still very much with us. You may need to help Anthony know that Stephen hasn't "abandoned" him again, though his presence may not be as clear as often
Dr. Liz - Jane, I don't use that terminology much in my work ... I don't use "go into the light" and I don't use "earthbound" ... my perspective is the animals' perspective not the human story.
Dr. Liz - GG, Anthony is quite clear and very much at peace with his gift of seeing spirits.
Dr. Liz - He doesn't feel abandoned just because a spirit may not be present as much because he's learned how to call them to BE present, same as I have.
GirlyGirls - It is better for most not to be earthbound, I think, though some get caught here because of unfinished business, or not being willing to let go and let God, same as the rest of us, is my impression. That's why the prayers for the dead are so important, helps them go on with their purpose and work
GirlyGirls - Good. DIdn't know if he understood that yet.
Dr. Liz - GG, at 11, he understands more than most.
jane - Dr. Liz - what is the animal's perspective that you are talking about?
GirlyGirls - Usually with the gift comes an understanding, it was so for me.
Dr. Liz - Jane, the animals don't have the concept of "earthbound" or "unfinished business" that seems to be something created by religious teachings.
Dr. Liz - The animals and all of nature has the sense of consciousness that either is or is not in a form, or is moving into and out of form.
Dr. Liz - The animals and all of nature also have the sense of one big field of consciousness, through which all apparent forms, move and change.
Dr. Liz - So at the moment of physical death, a consciousness (we might call it a spirit), which is a certain density of form, simply detaches from that form; and the form no longer has vital life force energy, and we call it "dead".
Dr. Liz - Many animals see spirits, or consciousnesses, very easily; particularly cats.
Dr. Liz - Reincarnation is the re-entering of a physical form, of a specific consciousness.
Dr. Liz - Some spirits or consciousnesses, go in and out of form pretty easily.
thumbers - does this apply to humans as well?
Dr. Liz - It's particularly common for the consciousnesses of the young, again, especially cats, but it's not limited to cats, to "jump bodies" until they finally settle into one body. But even mature bodies of certain species, can swap essence energies on certain occasions.
jane - So when the animals leave their bodies here - they move on to what? or come back here in physical form - again as an aimal? Some religions believe that humans cannot reincarnate as animals (that is it below them). Can "deceased" animals become our guides and "stay with us?"
Dr. Liz - Thumbers, I haven't watched as many life cycles with humans as I have with animals, simply because the human life cycle is longer.
thumbers - Jane asks a question I am also interested in
Dr. Liz - Jane, it's more correct to think of a consciousness form leaving a body form, that it is to limit the conversation to an "animal" consciousness. Remember, we are animals, too.
Dr. Liz - Yes, consciousnesses can most certainly be and indeed are, guides.
Dr. Liz - We are all born with at least one consciousness guide that takes the form of an animal, and that stays with us for our entire lives.
Dr. Liz - We also are born with consciousness guides that appear to be more "angelic" a.k.a. human.
Dr. Liz - Meaning, more human in appearance of form.
Dr. Liz - I've seen humans come back as animals, and animals come back as humans.
Dr. Liz - Remember, humans are animals, too.
jane - so consciousness can come and go as many different forms - be it "human," "animal," trees, plants, rocks, any kind of form??
Dr. Liz - Or more correctly, I seen non-human animals come back as human animals, and human animals come back as non-human animals.
thumbers - How do you reach your consciousness guide, whether animal or human, I know some people are able to connect or feel their Angels, is there a way of reaching out to your animal spirit?
Dr. Liz - Jane, yes.
Dr. Liz - Thumbers, definitely, yes. The best way is to do a shamanic journey.
thumbers - I will have to look for info on that, Im not familiar
Dr. Liz - I used to do journeys in all my classes, so people would find out who their guides are.
Dr. Liz - Thumbers, get Michael Harner's book, I believe it's called The Way of the Shaman.
Dr. Liz - I did a lot of Michael Harner's workshops over a several year period.
jane - Dr. Liz - sometimes I think that humans are so far down the chain of consciousness, I cannot even compare the what I think of the higher consciousness of the animals to the humans.
jane - That did not make any sense, did it?
Dr. Liz - Well, what we were going to talk about, is life's burdens. We've run out of time though 'cause it's time to do the prayer session.
GirlyGirls - Next time then. . .
Dr. Liz - Jane, everything is part of everything else. There really is nothing that can be separate from the all.
Dr. Liz - As low as things can get, that's what humans and all of nature are capable of. And as high as things can get, that's what humans and all of nature are capable of.
jane - That is so hard to understand and live, isn't it?
Dr. Liz - Jane, it'll grow on you with time.
jane - I know - I have been working on this concept for many years! and you have hlped me along the way!
Dr. Liz - Jane, thank you.
Dr. Liz - Hmmm. Maybe we can spend a few minutes on it.
GirlyGirls - (I think we actually have been talking about one of life's burdens, yes? :-)
Dr. Liz - The observation/insight I felt to share, I had while I was writing Steven's ceremony last week.
Dr. Liz - One of the quotes I used, (Matt. 11:28-30) was,
Dr. Liz - "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest; Take My Yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Dr. Liz - I finally understood this.
Dr. Liz - It means that when we are doing God's work, we don't feel like the burden is heavy or the way difficult.
Dr. Liz - So the opportunity for each of us, is to find what for us, is God's work for us.
Dr. Liz - And then life will feel light and easy.
Dr. Liz - I've never quite understood how to balance co-creative self-authorship of life, with knowing what is God's work for us and surrendering completely to that ... the best I have come to understand is, that whatever is the true desire of our heart, that is what God wants for us, too ... and It wants us, as much as we want It.
thumbers - Do you think some people find this naturally, while some people even struggle with the concept of it?
Dr. Liz - thumbers, an interesting question. Do you know anyone who has found "it" naturally, without any struggle at all?
jane - What if what we truly "want" (being an animal communicator) is not in the master plan for our lives?
thumbers - I just know that I don't believe I have found my purpose and I am 50
Dr. Liz - Does anyone here know anyone who had found "it" naturally? without any struggle?
thumbers - i only just thought to try and figure it out lately
jane - Some people do have "natural" gifts from childhood - that is not to say that they have had an easy life - but having a natural God-given talent is at least a start.
GirlyGirls - THumbers, or perhaps you are looking at your life to this point through a hazy glass? There are many "little things" that reflect God's will and purpose for us, that are quite exquisite little gems.
thumbers - :0)
GirlyGirls - In answer to your question, Liz, no. Padre Pio had his struggles, too, as did Mother Theresa!
Dr. Liz - Jane, there is unlimited power in a congruent life style. If all your life choices are congruent with your heart's desire, it will come forth for you.
Dr. Liz - GG, and so of course did the Master Teacher, Jesus the Christ.
Dr. Liz - And the Buddha.
thumbers - the glass has always been hazy, I am at the stage of seeking windex for my heart and soul, its never too late
GirlyGirls - Yes! :-)
Dr. Liz - And Zoroaster.
Dr. Liz - Thumbers, the experience here is, finding the purpose of one's heart, begins with a profound recognition of what we are feeling in each moment....ultimate awareness.
GirlyGirls - Thank God then for loving you, and reflect on how it feels to be so loved. . .and how it feels to love God. That gratitude is pretty good windex, I think!
Dr. Liz - GG, yes. I am grateful for the beauty of several gifts surrounding Steven's passing.
Dr. Liz - I hold his passing in that place. This has and is sustaining me.
GirlyGirls - Liz, many years ago, through a chat, you taught me the power of gratitude. I will never forget the elation I felt through that consciousness, and it is alwasy a part of me now.
Dr. Liz - GG, loving God is loving what is. When we truly get to that point, the absolute loving of what is, then our heart's desire comes forth for us.
Dr. Liz - GG, you word things so beautifully. Thank you.
GirlyGirls - Pinky was sooo sick, and I so crestfallen and heartbroken. I was grateful for the dust bunnies on the stairs by the time I went to bed. . .became so grateful for everything that touched my life in each moment. I could barely sleep I was so happy, so changed.
Dr. Liz - GG, so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
Dr. Liz - Well ... it really IS time to do the Prayer portion now ...
Dr. Liz - So please, choose a Name that works for you, to represent all that is sacred, holy, and divine in your life ...
GirlyGirls - (For those who don't know the history, The original GirlyGirls were Me, Pinky and Fannie (who is still with me).
