Mary A - She cries every time I talk to him. I'm trying to let her know I empathize with her being put out
Dr. Liz - I have one friend who has 3 American Revolutionary War spirits (one person called them ghosts) living on her estate (it's near the Delaware River in PA, not too far from Washington’s Crossing!).

Dr. Liz - She hears them and feels them and sometimes sees them. The funniest thing happened a short while ago ...
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - Dr Liz- that must be something
Dr. Liz - She had bought a new coat ... a RED coat ... short, winter-style one ... and she went outside to walk her dog in her new red coat ... and one of the 3 spirits said to her, "Wrong color!" They all laughed about it.
Marge - I just went out to check on cat 'noises' and Orange had a visitor (this one a black and white stray cat) that he wasn't too happy about. I do hope they'll get along??? eventually.
Marge - that's hilarious, Liz!
Dr. Liz - Mary, in your situation, there's a little of Bertie, a little of the bird, and a little of you.

Mary A - I had a spirit make a comment about me tasting too much of my own cooking when making dinner!

Marge - Did you hear a voice say that to you Mary while you were cooking?
Mary A - It was when we were having a rescue circle and one of the mediums did a direct voice communication
Dr. Liz - Mary, the best way to find out who a spirit is, is to ask. I don't always understand the answers though. I mean, I don't always get enough of a name to be able to track who the being was when perhaps they were in form.
Mary A - I'm thinking it could have been my mother who had passed
Dr. Liz - Mary, the experience here is, if it's a family member, they're usually quite ready to identify themselves. :)
Mary A - We all got a giggle at my expense,,,hahaha
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - Dr Liz- how would we knoiw if we are dealing with a spirit here...would PJ know?
Dr. Liz - Dee, you want more than just to "deal" with a spirit. You want it to leave, or at least, stop smelling up your house.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - MaryA-ooops-cat is out of the bag...heehee
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - Dr Liz- DEFINATELY-the smell needs to go...I just don't know how to do that, or even identify it
Dr. Liz - What I taught in the class is, first, address the spirit and ask, "What do you need?" And second, ask, "What would you have me do for you?" and third, optional, you can ask, "What is your name?"
Dr. Liz - Dee, is there a fire-place in that room?
Mary A - " I can't get away with anything" was my remark at the time

Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - there is a bathroom attacjehed to the room...a vent runs through the ceiling to the outside

Dr. Liz - Dee, that gives me an idea ... I'm switching gears here ... but have you correlated anything between the use of the bathroom and the rise of the smell? I keep sensing water ... and not healthy water … is an issue.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - the vent is not large enough for the actual animal to fit through
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - no...only Phoebes passing in that room...the smell came up right after that
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - the bathroom gets less use now b/c one must go through the room to get o the bathroom
Dr. Liz - What just flipped into my mind was, several client situations where the seals (the rings) on the bottom of the toilet were cracked or old and needed replacement, the consequence of their needing replacement was that toilet waste seeped into the floor boards, etc. instead of all going down the drain.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - the home inspector said not that kind of smell
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - we did ask that
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - it is the oddest smell
Dr. Liz - It was a sewer smell that appeared occasionally but of course not all the time because it depended on when the water reached its lowest level and puddled ... and then the smell (and the sewage) stayed there until it dried up ... and then that process repeated.
Mary A - DEE..can you describe the smell
Dr. Liz - Have you lifted the toilet to inspect the wax seal? It's really easy to do.

Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - actually I can not...I've never smelled it before...and I brought in a home inspector for help...he was stumped

Mary A - is it a musky or mildew type or a rotting smell hi maggie
Dr. Liz - Dee, I'm not referring to the seat ... I'm referring to unscrewing the entire toilet and lifting the toilet off its base to see if the seal below it is intact.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - I've smelled around the base, nothing...and it is not a swere smell at all

Dr. Liz - Dee, you don't always smell it from around the base of the toilet. The sewage and the waste, being water-based, seem into their lowest level, and puddle there. It isn't always where the toilet meets the floor. I keep sensing water going down to something.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - we emptied the room and put 3 coats of Kilz paint on the walls...still the smell lingers
Dr. Liz - And it's not always a sewer smell, because its sewage mixed with whatever it's puddled into or on ...
Dr. Liz - Dee, you mentioned earlier that the smell comes and goes ... is this correct?
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - Dr Liz- yes
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - but the tiolet usage has no effect on it seemingly
Dr. Liz - Dee, does it seem to be coming FROM the walls and/or floors, or does it seem to be INSIDE the room ... in the "living area" of the room?
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - inside the room
Dr. Liz - Dee, does it move around, or does it seem to gather and linger in one place?
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - but not strong at any one point
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - it kind of permeates the whole room

Dr. Liz - Dee, spirits generally don't permeate an entire room. Although they can.
Marge - actually Dee, if you can't do it yourselves, a plumber could easily lift it and check it for you. I'm not surprised that the home inspector wasn't able to help you out .
Mary A - Dee..do you feel it is spirit activity?
Dr. Liz - They move through it.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - MaryA-we do not feel anything specificallly in the room...but there is a lot of energy in the room...it is a meditation room
Dr. Liz - That would rule out a raccoon or a raccoon spirit. They would be in a place, with a clear directional, not creating a smell that filled an entire room, with no clear angle of penetration.
Marge - Dee ... you said some of the mice died in the walls ... I know that this can be a powerful and obnoxiously different small. Do you think this could be it?
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - Marge- we know that smell...and this is different
Marge - ok
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - we just thought maybe spirit since is appeared right after Phoebe(cat) died in theat room
Mary A - When is it really noticable? Is there a pattern?
Dr. Liz - Dee, do the process I outlined about 20 minutes ago. If you hear a response, it's a spirit. :)
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - We thought to ask Dr Liz about spirits causing a smell....since we don't know where else to turn
Marge - Liz ... what were the first 2 questions again please? I remember only the third.
Dr. Liz - Well, yes, as I emailed you before, they definitely CAN and DO cause smells. They also respond to contact. So talk to the "smell" and let me know what your experience is.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - MaryA-good question, but Dr. Liz- Cheryl is performing that task right now
Mary A - Do you dowse? Maybe you can clear the room doing that technique.
Dr. Liz - Marge, they'll be in the transcript.

Dr. Liz - Depending on what (if anything) you get from the spirit in answers, that will determine what might next need to be done.

Mary A - Dee.. if you use a pendulum,,, you can use it to clear negative energy and replace it with positive energy

Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - Dr Liz- Iam not sure....possibly...could the spirit see the high energy in the room as a soource of light...like a lighthousw?
Mary A - Don't judge it or second guess

Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - hmmmm, the smell does not have a rotting smell
Dr. Liz - Bilge water from ships, usually. It's not exactly a rotting smell, but it is a pretty unpleasant one.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - We had a spirit in this house once before, and the spirit used the biweekly chats and our cat to find Dr Liz- and get help to leave
Marge - wow Dee!
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - would our cat know now if there was a spirit here?
Dr. Liz - Dee, I feel that's what's happening here, too. This particular spirit wants help in leaving or moving on. But we need information. Specifically, we need to know where the closest light house is.

Mary A - There are groups that do spirit rescue. The spirits are brought to the group to help it to cross over

Dr. Liz - I believe it is based in the fact that my brothers and I were taught to process emotions VERY quickly, and immediately get to what to do about a situation, rather than to express the emotion or linger in it. I realized today I actually don't EVER remember either my Mom or my Dad asking me how I felt about anything. It wasn't important. What was important was to figure out the appropriate action.

Dr. Liz - My wusband, with whom my daughter is very close, is ALL emotion ... it was one of the things that drew us together, I'm sure ... so opposite we were … and she needs that. She needs to feel someone's emotions, and hear them talk them out. Which isn't something I've ever done much of.

Mary A - So do you feel that your parent didn't teach empathy to you?
Marge - ... and certainly not easy to do Liz, if you've never been brought up to do so.
Dr. Liz - Dee, I'm not sure it was an "opposite" approach ... I feel that what she needs to feel loved, I wasn't giving her.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - funny Dr. Liz- you do show so much love, compassion etc, just she doesn't experience that
Mary A - Does she need to feel "validated" on some level?
Dr. Liz - I did things like, whenever she was in trouble, always be there for her; always give her a roof over her head when she needed it; give her money; bail her out of trouble; and quite literally on 2 occasions, save her life. But I didn't talk about these things, I just did them. Her Dad has done precious little for her, but he DOES talk to her all the time. I realize now, that’s what she’s wanted.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - you say your husbands energy "works' with her....then would you say that his relationship with her is more like what you desire?
Dr. Liz - Mary, yes, I feel she does. Validated in an emotional way, rather than an "action" based way.
Dee(&Zoe&Phoebe) - to feel connected then, she needs that kind of nature

Dr. Liz - Dee, yes.
Mary A - Sometimes we just need to feel that we are understood

Dr. Liz - Mary, with her, I believe it's more that she needs to feel strong emotion, and a wide variety of strong emotions, from someone. And that isn't me. I'm best at compassion and bringing peace.

Dr. Liz - Dee, I have come to realize the relationship could improve if I shared more of my feelings with her.
Dr. Liz - Dee, my parents are both crossed over.
Dr. Liz - Mary, yes, very much so.

Dr. Liz - Dee, when she was quite young, yes. They moved to Florida when she was about six or seven. So not much of a relationship after that.
Mary A - Some types of people thrive on chaos.. is that the case with her?

Dr. Liz - Mary, she's extremely perceptive and intuitive, as are my grandsons. Very high sense perceivers. Elder grandson is very psychic.
